@ Chevy: Dan breid ik mijn verbazing uit. Zoveel verschil in niveau tussen de verschillende albums, maar ze komen zo'n beetje állemaal hoog.

Ik denk dat de kracht van Radiohead is dat ze juist een breed publiek aanspreken. De een houdt meer dan de alternatieve rock (The Bends), de andere meer van de electronica (Kid A), In Rainbows is een beetje best of both worlds en iedereen houdt van OK Computer.

Hetzelfde zie je bij bv. Pink Floyd: de een houdt van Dark Side of the Moon/Wish You Were Here, de ander van het duistere punk-achtige Animals, weer een ander van de conceptalbums van Roger Waters en dan is er nog de groep die van de cross-over periode houdt met Atom Heart Mother en Meddle.

Radiohead eindigde vorig jaar bij het eindspel op 1, 12, 15 en 45. Op zich niet bijster overdreven. Zeker aangezien The Beatles bv. op 8, 14, 20 en 51 eindigde. Pink Floyd op 7, 11, 69 en 74. Radiohead is gewoon, by far, de meest gewaardeerde artiest sinds Pink Floyd. En dat zeg ik niet, omdat ik zo'n uitgesproken Radiohead-fan ben hoor, want in mijn eindlijstje stonden ze welgeteld 0 keer.

Enfin, verder met de 10s! Daar zullen Radiohead het ongetwijfeld niet zo goed gaan doen. En als de eerste tussenstand een voorteken is voor de komende anderhalve week krijgen Arcade Fire en The National het nog zeer lastig!

Blijkbaar heeft zijn nieuwe album veel nieuwe liefhebbers aan zich weten te binden in het afgelopen jaar. Ondanks een goede poging was het net iets te mager voor een top 40-plek.

Ben Cooper flikt het weer. Het duurde even, maar halverwege kwam deel één van de trilogie de top 40 ruimschoots binnen en is daar niet meer weggegaan. The Branches eindigt net buiten de top 100 op 117 en het is nog altijd wachten op het laatste deel van de trilogie.

Stond, samen met Kendrick, afgetekend bovenaan. High Violet en The Suburbs in geen velden of wegen te bekennen. Een valse start zo bleek, want Kendrick kwam eerder al langs op plek 7 en Sufjan Stevens weet niets een de top 3 te halen. Uhh.. niet eens? De vierde plek voor een album dat net een paar maanden oud is lijkt me verdomme een mooie positie!
The Age of Adz, vorig jaar nog bij de beste 50 albums, is dit jaar geen enkele keer genoemd. Carrie & Lowell is zo goed dat het het vorige album haast heeft doen vergeten!

Mooie, gestage lijn naar boven. Leek de onbetwiste nummers 1 en 2 nog te kunnen bedreigen, maar in de tweede week gingen die er hard vandoor. Het verschil is meer dan 30 punten. Desalniettemin maar mooi het brons voor Opa Cave (want dat is hij toch wel een beetje in dit speelveld).

Eén puntje, één schamel puntje is het verschil. Vorig jaar was het verschil 10 punten, het jaar daarvoor 5 punten. Allebei de keren in het voordeel van The Suburbs. Dit jaar ging High Violet, eigenlijk net zoals ieder jaar, trager van start. Het verschil liep zelfs op naar meer dan 30 punten. En dan komt, eigenlijk net zoals ieder jaar, de eindsprint van High Violet. Een behoorlijk eindsprint, want het gat werd kleiner en kleiner. Het is dat [user]Teunnis[/user] nog van mijn nimmer afnemende gulheid gebruik kon maken, want anders had High Violet gewonnen. Als dat geen bewijs is van mijn onpartijdigheid..

Afijn, beide albums werden 32 keer genoemd. The Suburbs gemiddeld welgeteld 0,03 hoger en dat is precies dat ene puntje verschil dat maakt dat er in kamp Arcade Fire gejuicht kan worden!

Op 28 maart j.l. opende ik het topic van de 50s. Inmiddels zijn we 617 lijstjes verder, ingestuurd door 188 gebruikers. Deze 188 gebruikers noemden in totaal 6560 albums door 3656 verschillende artiesten. Dit alles leverde zeven maal een top 50 op, van de 60s tot aan de 10s. Deze lijst is te vinden in de longlist in het bericht hieronder.

Nu is het tijd om de toppers tegen elkaar te laten strijden. Dark Side of the Moon tegen Funeral, Unknown Pleasures tegen Closer en OK Computer tegen In Rainbows. Welke albums zijn nou de beste albums aller tijden en worden over een grotere tijdspanne als de crème de la crème gezien?

De regels blijven hetzelfde als vorig jaar :
- Stel een toplijst op uit de keuzelijst in de volgende post. Dit mag alles zijn van een top 20 tot aan een top 50 (een top 23 of 37 is dus ook toegestaan!)
- Doe dit a.u.b. door de albums uit de lijst in het volgende bericht te kopiëren, zodat de schrijfwijze bij iedereen EXACT gelijk is. Dit scheelt mij veel tijd in het verwerken van de lijstjes!

Wat betreft de deadline hou ik nog even slag om arm vanwege de radio-uitzending, dus wellicht wordt de deadline nog een week verlengd.
