16 april 2014 opende ik het topic van de 60s. We zijn inmiddels al bijna 3 maanden verder en aanbeland bij hét eindspel.

233 deelnemers waren goed voor:
- 608 lijstjes, met daarin
- 16.430 nominaties, bestaande uit
- 6275 albums genoemd, verdeeld over
- 3449 artiesten

De regels blijven hetzelfde als vorig jaar :
- Stel een toplijst op uit de keuzelijst in de volgende post. Dit mag alles zijn van een top 20 tot aan een top 50 (een top 23 of 37 is dus ook toegestaan!)
- Doe dit a.u.b. door de albums uit de lijst te kopiëren, zodat de spelwijze bij iedereen EXACT gelijk is.
Dit scheelt mij veel tijd in het verwerken van de lijstjes!

Wie niet?

Ik ga er trouwens maar even vanuit dat jouw lijstje al op volgorde is.

Een paar dagen terug kwam ik tot de conclusie dat ik zo’n 60 albums nog nooit in haar volledigheid gehoord heb.

Volgens iTunes heb ik sinds de start van dit topic 112 albums beluisterd. Ik schat dat ik gedurende alle spellen zo’n 150 albums van de uiteindelijke longlist beluisterd heb.

Uit de longlist van 301 albums kwam ik tot een aantal van 114 die ik wel in mijn top 50 zou willen zetten.
Een tweede schifting resulteerde al in 76 albums. En met ‘kill your darlings’ uiteindelijk tot deze top 50 gekomen. Aantal recentelijk (her)ontdekte albums (War On Drugs, DJ Shadow, Leonard Cohen) achterwege moeten laten voor albums die ik al langer een warm hart toedraag.

Dit geldt vooral voor albums uit deze eeuw: ik volg geen hitparades meer en in dit digitale tijdperk ken ik wel allerlei nummers maar vrijwel geen hele albums meer. Het zij zo.

Niet te doen natuurlijk, dit.   De volgorde blijft na de top20 een beetje gokwerk. Bepaalde albums van bands zitten zo dicht tegen mekaar aan qua gevoel dat er geen andere albums tussen passen. Met name bij The Bends / OK Computer en Misplaced Childhood / Clutching at straws zit er voor mij geen licht tussen. Dus die heb ik dan ook maar naast mekaar gezet in de lijst.

Klassiekers te over en voor het vierde jaar op rij top 20 gescoord. The Joshua Tree was het voorbeeld dat ik gaf van een plaat die in eerste instantie niet eens bij de bovenste 200 stond en toen als een komeet omhoog schoot. Deze komeet eindigde op plek 19.

Mezzanine is misschien nog wel de ongelukkigste plaat van allen. Op de helft stond het nota bene nog op 1 en na 2/3e van de lijstjes nog altijd in de top 5. Ongelofelijk dat Mezzanine helemaal afgezakt is naar plek 18!
